Introducing NewHeart: mental healthcare for your life’s journey.
Get accessible and personalized mental healthcare in-person or from the comfort of your home.
Our approach
You deserve mental health care that feels personal, respectful, and truly supportive — not rushed or one-size-fits-all.
At NewHeart Mental Health and Wellness, we take time to understand your full story. Before focusing only on symptoms or prescriptions, we look at the whole person: your biology, your daily life, your sleep, nutrition, hormones, and the habits that shape how you feel every day.
Medication can be an incredibly helpful tool when it’s the right one for you, but it’s rarely the only answer. My goal is to explore all the pieces that matter and create a plan that actually fits your life and supports real, lasting change.
Every session is built on deep listening, clear explanations, and genuine partnership. You’ll never feel like just a number here. Instead, you’ll have space to ask questions, share openly, and help shape your own path forward.
One of my patients put it beautifully: “She really seems to care about us as people and our goals.”
This is care that believes in your ability to heal and grow. It’s about giving you the tools, understanding, and support to move from surviving to thriving — with more stability, hope, and peace in your days.
You’re capable of feeling better. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
“Jacki stayed on the call with me forever making sure she went over everything in my life. She listened very well and I appreciate it so much!” - Alex and “she really seems to care about us as people and our goals.” - Chris
No rush, no one size fits all.
“I have known Jacki for about two years, and it’s hard to put into words just how much she has meant to me and my daughter. From the very beginning, she made us feel safe, heard, and truly understood. Talking to her feels natural—like you can finally take a deep breath and just be yourself without fear or judgment. Jacki has worked with both my daughter and me, and my daughter absolutely adores her. Every time Jacki would ask when she wanted to come back, my daughter would say “tomorrow.” As a parent, that says everything. It showed me how deeply comfortable, safe, and cared for she felt. What makes Jacki so special is not just the advice she gives, but the way she listens. She hears you—really hears you—and meets you where you are. She has helped me understand myself in ways I never had before. Because of her, I’ve grown into a stronger, more self-aware woman, and I’ve learned how to handle life with healthier tools and a clearer mind. She has poured so much time, energy, compassion, and genuine care into both of us, and that is something I will always be grateful for. You can feel that she truly wants her patients to heal, to grow, and to become the best version of themselves. If you are thinking about choosing Jacki as your psychiatrist, I can say from the bottom of my heart—you will not regret it. She doesn’t just do her job… she truly cares, and that makes all the difference.'“

“She was exactly what I needed. Reaching out for help is nerve wrecking and she was so comforting.” -Michelle **** "I tried all these other doctors to get help- I was either misdiagnosed or not treated properly. When I came to you I not only felt like I was being treated, but not that – that I was a person not just a number....I no longer have to be on that roller coaster and not know what my life would be like every day." -Kayla

“Jacki has been a great help and supporter to me for 3 years now. (I think… maybe longer?) I've now found stability with my bipolar disorder and a medication routine that works for me. One thing I really like about her is she is very thorough; whether it's telling me both the benefits and risks of a medication, educating me on how medications can affect your brain, as well as looking at the big picture and considering if something may be caused by hormones or diet. She has seen me through my ups and downs and helped me get to where I am today.”

About Jacki
It’s so common to feel lost in the mental health system — rushed appointments, feeling like just another number, or starting over with someone new every few months. If that’s been your experience, you’re not alone, and it doesn’t have to stay that way.
I’m Jacki Veler, MSN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, founder of NewHeart Mental Health and Wellness. With over 16 years of experience in psychiatric care, family practice, hospital units, and addiction recovery, I bring a unique whole-person perspective to every client I serve.
My approach is grounded in the belief that true mental wellness comes from looking at the full picture — the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors that shape how you feel. I don’t automatically reach for medication. Instead, we explore potential underlying contributors like sleep, nutrition, hormones, and daily habits first, while offering expert medication management when it’s the right fit for you.
What matters most to me is creating a space where you feel truly heard and valued. My patients often share that they finally feel like a real person again. One said: “I love having sessions with Jackie — she listens really well and gives awesome suggestions. She really seems to care about us as people and our goals. She spends extra time with me when needed and makes sure my needs are met.”
I’m here to partner with you — not to do things to you, but to work alongside you — so you can move from simply getting by to feeling stable, hopeful, and more in control of your life.
You deserve care that sees the whole you. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to walk with you.
How would you like to begin?
“It’s hard to even put into words what this past year has meant to me, but I’m going to try. You came into my life during a time when I really needed guidance, structure, and someone who actually cared and you gave me all of that and more. You didn’t just help me with my alcohol and drug treatment or medications. ….. you helped me start finding myself again. There were days I didn’t believe in me, but you did. Your words, your honesty, and your support stuck with me more than you probably even realize. Your opinion truly means a lot to me, because I know it always came from a place of wanting better for me and that pushed me to want better for myself. Recovery isn’t easy, and I know I still have a long road ahead, but you helped lay a foundation that I’m standing on today. That matters more than I can explain.……The same way you made a difference in my life, you’re going to continue changing lives everywhere you go. Thank you for believing in me, for being patient with me, and for helping me become stronger than I was a year ago. I won’t forget that.”
